Analysis of my favourite scenes

This shot is used at the start, and has a clear focus of the girl as she appears three times. This over the shoulder mid shot shows the girl from angles, keeping the full screen busy. The red hair of the girl keeps the colour theme and again suggests the indie theme, it also contrasts with the subtle cream background presenting a feminine feel, we choose her white tee shirt to help compliment this. The balanced composition of this clip keeps the screen busy which I really think has worked well. Although i like the lighting is warm which compliments the cream colours i regret not experimenting with ambient lighting to help express the time of day. Her movement runs in time with the speed of the music, which my research on the "Heartbeats" music video has taught me of its importance, as it helps the clip run smoothly.

I like the movement in this shot as the camera follows the focal point of the girl, and the handheld look adds to the indie feel we aimed to create. The natural lighting automatically sets a slight contrast to this scene, this was further edited to exaggerate this more. Again i believe the natural colours help keep the indie theme, which was our aim. The clothing worn keeps this theme clear as the same colours are worn throughout, this should help the audience recognise the characters with ease as well as keep the layed back style in mind. The horizontal lines in this clip (path, grass, fence, road, houses) all have similar widths, this allows the screen to look wider than it really is, allowing more focus to be on the characters.  

This ambient scene is similar to other scenes in the video, due to the orange street lamp above head we thought this location (as appose to a few metres right) would be perfect for the boy to stand as the viewer will be able to clearly see what is happening, a warming tone is another result of this as it gives an overall happier feel. Panning in this scene also works well as it shows both a full length hot and a mid shot, showing diversity and keeping the focus of the two characters.The white snow contrasts with the dark clothing both characters which sets them apart from the landscape, it also shows the passing of time which although was unsuspected i believe works well.
