The image above shows the final version of our digipack and below this the CD design, i believe the two compliment each other as the colours and style suit each other well. I purposely thought it to be a good idea to have the image in the background of the CD to be the same as that of its storage image as i have viewed this affect on albums previously studied and thought it would work well, which i believe it has.
The image above is the original photo set in a well known street in our local area, we thought this cobbled tree lined street would represent the indie theme we aim to create very well. Whilst taking a number of images similar in order to find the best we discussed what editing techniques we would use in order to complete the image, the following images show it progress.
First we cropped the image in order for it to fit perfectly onto the page of the album without stretching or distorting the image, resulting in a lack of quality. We then adjusted the contrast higher in order for our focus (the man) to attract the eye. The image was then changed to gray scale as we thought text would have a larger contrast when in could, making it a lot easier to decide where to place the text.
The colour of the girl was then extracted from the original image and placed over the previously edited image, in order to attract the eye of the audience and place another focus in the image. The software 'foreworks' was used to do this, which we found to be a relatively simple process. I believe the final result is a positive one and I'm very pleased with the outcome.
